BIO:

Hello. I’m Doug, owner of Starlight Restorations. Although Starlight was established in 2015, I’ve been restoring cars and antiques for the last 30 years. Whether it was working with my mentor Rob English at Restoration Connection or doing various freelance projects, I always kept my hands dirty and my mind designing and creating! The concept of Starlight Restorations began shortly after Rob passed away in December of 2012. I found a tiny shop close to home and took in some freelance work until I met Lou Notaro…my first client. He gave me the push I needed, to start a business of my own. Starlight was born, January 2015. Over the years, I’ve moved into a bigger building, tried out a number of apprentices and a had few full time employees. After ten years in business, I’ve come full circle…….back to working alone, right where I belong. I miss the days when I only had one car to focus on. I did my best work in that environment.

From here on out, I’ll be focusing on restoring Corvettes only….from 1953 through 1982. In addition to the Corvettes, I’ll be introducing the service of restoring and repurposing antiques of many kinds. I’ve always loved antiques and have collected a bunch over the years. I’ll be adding a page of my antique work to this site in the near future, as I finish some of the projects I have lined up. Some will be for sale……stay tuned!

ABOUT:

As the owner/operator of Starlight Restorations, my goal is to give you the car of your dreams and exceed your expectations. Although I’ve restored many different makes and models of classic cars over the years, today I am solely focusing on Corvettes. I offer three levels of restoration: Street, Show and Concours de Elegance. All three options provide the same level of quality……giving you a very thorough restoration with longevity in mind, but each level has different amounts of time spent in every aspect of the restoration. I can give you a factory correct restoration or I can design and build you a custom Corvette with all the modern amenities. The level you choose is relative to your goals for the car, how you intend to use it and your budget for the finished product.

I am renowned for my attention to detail……I love going the extra mile on the little things, and it’s evident every step of the way through the project. Quite a few of my restorations have been published in various magazines, some have won “Best in Class” awards at Concours de Elegance shows and others have been built to drive hard and long distances. My attention to detail runs throughout the car. I work hard to improve these cars in every area possible, especially from a functionality aspect. Everything must function properly with an elevated level of precision. I strive to bring these classics up to speed with their modern counterparts wherever applicable to keep you feeling comfortable while cruising the streets and highways.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"Doug is an easy going guy who took the time to make note of everything I wanted from the restoration and delivered exactly what we discussed.  My car came out better than my expectations and has won multiple Best in Show awards, including a Concours de Elegance 1st place award in 2015. I couldn’t be any more pleased with the results."
